The American Chiropractic Association is one of the largest association of Chiropractic Doctors. However, the ACA is very liberal. They are not true to the original philosophy of Chiropractic set forth by D.D. Palmer or B.J. Palmer. A more appropriate term for many in the American Chiropractic Association would be “medipractor” since many of them practice more medicine than chiropractic. Medipractors in the ACA have such a low view of chiropractic that many of them will only adjust a patient if he walks into the office and has absolutely nothing wrong with him. They would rather refer all their patients to an M.D. since they don’t believe chiropractic can help anyone. D.C.’s in the ACA are very unlikely to understand Upper Cervical Chiropractic which B.J. Palmer developed into a very fine art. B.J. Palmer said something to the effect that in 100 years chiropractors would be practicing medicine and medical doctors would be practicing chiropractic. The ACA is fulfilling his prophecy to the detriment of the profession.
